Matthew Russell

Workforce Director

Matt Russell has been a part of New Hampshire’s workforce development efforts since 2008, beginning his tenure with Southern New Hampshire Services in 2011. Prior to joining the SNHS team, Matt worked in conjunction with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Special Education Departments at several high schools within the southern New Hampshire region. Together they were able to successfully establish programs designed to help students develop appropriate career paths, improve their overall employability and begin the process for successful transition to the adult services that many were eligible for.

Matt’s first role at SNHS was with the Workplace Success Program (WPS), where he worked as a Program Coordinator in the Manchester office. He went on to become the Field Operations Manager for the New Hampshire Employment Program (NHEP) and later accepted a position working as the Regional Manager of the Workplace Success Program. Matt was invited to join the SNHS Emerging Leaders initiative where he was able to work with some of the agencies most talented and experienced staff. In the spring of 2017 Matt was named the WIOA Statewide Program Administrator. In 2021, Matt was named Workforce Director overseeing all of the agency’s workforce programs.

Matt resides in Windham, NH with his wife and two young children. He and his family have a great appreciation for the outdoors and all of the remarkable destinations New Hampshire has to offer. When he is not working, you can find him and his family exploring all corners of the state.
